These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of usexpat.com and any related pages, content, features, forms, newsletters, and services made available through the website, collectively referred to as the “Site.”
The Site is operated by US Expat LLC, which operates under the US Expat brand. In these Terms, “US Expat,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to US Expat LLC.
By accessing or using the Site, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you should not use the Site.
1. Educational and Informational Purposes Only
US Expat is an educational and informational resource for individuals considering, preparing for, or managing life outside the United States.
The information available through the Site is general in nature and is not intended to constitute personalized:
- Legal advice
- Tax advice or tax preparation services
- Immigration advice
- Investment advice
- Financial planning advice
- Insurance advice
- Accounting advice
- Estate planning advice
- Banking or lending advice
Nothing on the Site should be interpreted as a recommendation to purchase, sell, hold, exchange, or enter into any investment, insurance product, financial arrangement, legal structure, immigration strategy, tax strategy, or other transaction.
Information provided through the Site may not be appropriate for a visitor’s circumstances. Visitors should consult appropriately qualified U.S. and local professionals who understand their personal circumstances and the laws and regulations of each relevant jurisdiction before making decisions or taking action.
Unless expressly stated in a separate written agreement, US Expat LLC is not acting as a law firm, accounting firm, tax preparation or filing firm, immigration law firm, registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, insurance agency, bank, lender, or fiduciary.
2. No Professional or Fiduciary Relationship
Using the Site does not create an attorney-client, accountant-client, tax adviser-client, investment adviser-client, insurance producer-client, fiduciary, consulting, agency, or other professional relationship between a visitor and US Expat LLC.
Submitting an inquiry, completing a form, subscribing to a newsletter, attending an event, downloading material, communicating with a contributor, or receiving a response does not create a professional relationship.
A professional relationship may be established only through a separate written agreement with the appropriately licensed, registered, or qualified professional or firm providing the relevant service.
Visitors must not submit Social Security numbers, taxpayer identification numbers, account passwords, financial-account credentials, complete tax returns, medical records, complete financial statements, passport copies, or identification documents through an unsecured form or ordinary email.
3. Qualified Professionals and Regulated Services
The Site may identify, feature, provide access to, or facilitate introductions to lawyers, accountants, tax professionals, immigration professionals, financial advisers, insurance professionals, currency specialists, banking professionals, real estate professionals, and other service providers.
Any professional or regulated service is provided separately by the relevant professional or firm and is subject to that provider’s own:
- Engagement agreement
- Client agreement
- Regulatory disclosures
- Privacy policy
- Fees and charges
- Licensing or registration requirements
- Eligibility requirements
- Jurisdictional restrictions
US Expat LLC does not guarantee that a professional or service will be suitable, available, licensed, registered, or permitted to serve a particular visitor.
Visitors are responsible for reviewing the credentials, qualifications, licensing status, experience, fees, conflicts of interest, and engagement terms of a professional before retaining or relying upon that professional.
4. Contributors and Third-Party Professionals
Content may be written, reviewed, presented, or contributed by professionals or organizations.
Unless expressly identified otherwise, contributors and professional firms featured on the Site are independent parties and are not employees, partners, agents, representatives, or fiduciaries of US Expat LLC.
This statement does not apply to a person who is expressly identified as an owner, officer, employee, or authorized representative of US Expat LLC.
Views expressed by a contributor are their own and may not represent the views of US Expat LLC or another contributor.
Featuring a contributor, publishing an article, including a profile, arranging an introduction, or inviting a professional to participate in an event does not constitute a guarantee or warranty regarding that professional.
5. No Offer, Solicitation, or Recommendation
Nothing on the Site constitutes an offer to sell, solicitation of an offer to buy, or recommendation concerning any security, investment product, insurance product, legal service, tax service, immigration service, banking product, loan, or regulated service.
Products and services may not be available in every jurisdiction or to every visitor.
Accessing the Site from a particular location does not mean a referenced product or service may lawfully be offered or provided in that location.
Any regulated product or service is offered only through the appropriately licensed or registered professional or firm and subject to separate agreements and disclosures.
6. Investment and Financial Information
Investing involves risk, including possible loss of principal.
Past performance does not guarantee future results.
Any examples, projections, illustrations, case studies, estimates, rates of return, income figures, withdrawal rates, exchange rates, planning assumptions, or financial scenarios are provided solely for general educational purposes.
Actual outcomes may differ because of market conditions, taxes, fees, inflation, currency movements, timing, personal circumstances, product terms, regulatory changes, and other factors.
Nothing on the Site is a promise or guarantee of investment performance, income, financial success, tax savings, or another result.
7. Tax, Legal, and Immigration Information
Tax, legal, estate planning, and immigration rules vary by jurisdiction and may change without notice.
The treatment of a transaction, structure, relocation, investment, visa, estate plan, or tax strategy may depend on facts not addressed in general educational content.
Visitors must confirm deadlines, thresholds, filing requirements, tax rates, visa requirements, residency rules, treaty provisions, reporting obligations, and other requirements with appropriately qualified U.S. and local professionals before acting.
US Expat LLC is not responsible for penalties, taxes, interest, denied applications, missed deadlines, investment losses, immigration consequences, or other outcomes resulting from reliance on general website content.
8. Accuracy, Completeness, and Timeliness
US Expat LLC seeks to provide useful information but does not guarantee that Site content is accurate, complete, current, error free, or appropriate for a particular purpose.
Content may become outdated because of changes in laws, regulations, tax rules, immigration policies, financial markets, products, services, professional interpretations, or administrative practices.
A publication date or Last Updated date does not guarantee that every statement has been independently verified as of that date.
US Expat LLC may correct, revise, update, or remove content at any time without notice.
9. Third-Party Websites and Services
The Site may contain links to or integrations with websites, applications, content, products, or services operated by third parties.
US Expat LLC does not control and is not responsible for third-party content, security, privacy, availability, accuracy, terms, products, or services.
A link does not necessarily imply endorsement, sponsorship, affiliation, recommendation, or approval.
Visitors access and use third-party resources at their own discretion.
10. Forms, Inquiries, and Electronic Communications
Visitors represent that information submitted through a form is accurate and that they are authorized to provide it.
Submitting an inquiry authorizes US Expat LLC and, where appropriate and requested, the relevant contributor or professional to respond using the contact information provided.

11. Newsletter and Marketing Communications
Visitors may voluntarily subscribe to newsletters, event invitations, educational updates, and related communications.
Visitors may unsubscribe by using the link included in the relevant email or by contacting US Expat LLC.
Unsubscribing from marketing communications does not prevent US Expat LLC from sending nonmarketing communications reasonably necessary to respond to an inquiry, provide a requested resource, administer an event registration, or address a legal, security, or operational matter.

Visitors may not:

Some jurisdictions do not permit the exclusion of certain warranties. In those jurisdictions, exclusions apply only to the extent legally permitted.
19. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, US Expat LLC and its owners, officers, directors, employees, contractors, contributors, licensors, affiliates, and representatives will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or relating to:

References to U.S. or foreign laws, tax systems, visas, financial products, insurance products, professional services, or planning strategies do not mean the relevant information or service is available or suitable in every jurisdiction.

These Terms and any dispute arising from or relating to the Site will be governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, any legal action or proceeding arising from or relating to the Site or these Terms must be brought in a state or federal court having jurisdiction in Laramie County, Wyoming. You and US Expat LLC consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of those courts.
Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking emergency or injunctive relief in an appropriate court to protect intellectual property, confidential information, security, or other legal rights.
